Invasive Aquatic Plants by Lesley Henderson and Carina J. Cilliers is an important South African reference work published as Plant Protection Research Institute Handbook No. 16 by the Agricultural Research Council. This specialist guide focuses on the identification of 21 of the most important and potentially dangerous invasive aquatic and wetland plants found in South Africa.
The handbook includes colour photographs, descriptions and identification notes for problematic aquatic weeds such as water hyacinth, salvinia, water lettuce, red water fern and parrot’s feather. Invasive Aquatic Plants also contains useful information on biological control programmes and discusses dangerous aquatic species that should not be introduced into southern Africa. An excellent practical reference for conservationists, environmental officers, students, botanists, anglers, farmers, wetland managers and collectors of South African natural history and environmental books.
Published by the ARC Plant Protection Research Institute in 2002. Softcover. ISBN 1868492540.
Condition – Near Fine
No notable defects. A particularly clean and attractive copy of an increasingly scarce South African environmental handbook.
