Theo Aronson’s fascinating study explores the little-known relationship between Queen Victoria and the Bonaparte family following the fall of the Second French Empire. Drawing on private letters, court records and royal correspondence, Queen Victoria and the Bonapartes presents an engaging portrait of diplomacy, family loyalties and political intrigue in nineteenth-century Europe.
This 1972 first edition of Queen Victoria and the Bonapartes from Cassell & Company Ltd is especially desirable as it has been both inscribed and signed by Theo Aronson. The book is bound in burgundy cloth with bright gilt lettering to the spine and is housed in its original unclipped dust jacket.
