Written by noted art historian Yvonne Hackenbroch and published by Thames and Hudson in London in 1957, this lavish volume documents one of the finest collections of Chelsea and other English porcelain, pottery and enamels ever assembled.
Chelsea and Other English Porcelain Pottery and Enamel contains 146 glossy photographic plates followed by 286 pages of detailed text, making it both an invaluable scholarly reference and an attractive collector’s volume. Chelsea and Other English Porcelain Pottery and Enamel traces the development of Chelsea porcelain and other leading English factories including Bow, Derby and Worcester, with commentary on styles, marks, manufacture and historical context. The striking decorative boards with gilt flamingo design make this an especially handsome shelf copy.
