Official Place Names in the Republic of South Africa also provides valuable insight into the standardisation and official usage of geographical names in both Afrikaans and English.
As an official government publication, Official Place Names in the Republic of South Africa has considerable research value when studying historical towns, settlements, districts, geographical features and names that have subsequently been altered or replaced. Official Place Names in the Republic of South Africa will appeal to collectors of Africana and South African government publications, as well as historians, genealogists, map collectors, academics and researchers studying Southern African geography and historical place names.
