Cold-Blooded Killings – Hits, Assassinations and Near Misses That Shook the World is by Charlotte Greig, published in 2006 by Arcturus Publishing Limited, London, in association with W. Foulsham & Co. Ltd. This is a large-format hardcover in its original dust jacket.
Greig examines the most notorious assassinations in modern history, looking closely at the killers, their motives and the impact each death had on society. She also explores the controversies that have followed cases where the killer’s motive was unclear or where it seemed unlikely they acted alone. Cold-Blooded Killings is heavily illustrated throughout with images from the Corbis, Lebrecht and Rex picture agencies.
Alongside the killings themselves, the book looks at notable failed attempts on the lives of famous figures, including Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, Andy Warhol and Pope John Paul II, asking why they failed and what might have followed had they succeeded.
Cold-Blooded Killings will appeal to readers of true crime and political history, anyone interested in the turning points of the twentieth century, and those who enjoy well-illustrated reference books on world events.
