After Rome, Africa

Originally published in 1959, After Rome, Africa is a compelling historical novel by Brian Glanville, reissued in 1975 by Ian Henry Publications. Known primarily for his acclaimed football writing and Italian-themed fiction, Glanville here turns his narrative lens toward post-imperial Africa, crafting a suspenseful and evocative story set against the backdrop of a continent in transition.

This edition is bound in red cloth boards with gilt lettering to the spine, and is notable for its clean typesetting and collectible mid-20th-century design. Though technically a reprint, it retains the literary merit and rarity appeal of the original, particularly for readers and collectors interested in historical fiction, colonial-era narratives, or Glanville’s broader literary oeuvre.

An increasingly uncommon edition, ideal for collectors of Africana, 20th-century English fiction, or vintage political thrillers with a historical lens.
