Art Deco by Eva Weber is a beautifully produced large-format reference work celebrating one of the most influential and visually distinctive design movements of the twentieth century. Published in 1989 by Bison Books, this richly illustrated volume explores the elegance, innovation, and modernity that defined the Art Deco era across architecture, furniture, industrial design, fashion, interiors, graphics, and decorative arts.
Lavishly illustrated throughout, the book captures the streamlined glamour and geometric sophistication associated with the interwar years, featuring iconic skyscrapers, cinemas, radios, furnishings, jewellery, posters, and household objects that came to symbolize luxury and progress in the 1920s and 1930s. Eva Weber presents Art Deco not only as a decorative style, but as a cultural movement shaped by technological optimism, urban expansion, and changing social tastes.
The visual appeal of Art Deco makes it an excellent addition to any coffee-table library, design collection, or reference shelf. Collectors and enthusiasts of architecture, vintage interiors, industrial design, and twentieth-century decorative arts will appreciate the extensive photographic content and accessible historical overview. The dramatic dust jacket artwork and oversized presentation further enhance its display value.
This title remains sought after among collectors of design books and lovers of Art Deco aesthetics, particularly in large-format hardcover editions. An ideal acquisition for decorators, architects, artists, historians, and anyone drawn to the timeless elegance of the Machine Age and the golden era of modern design.
