Boer War Operations in South Africa – Limited De Luxe edition of only 1,000 copies containing the important contemporary military reports of Captains S. L’H. Slocum and Carl Reichmann on Boer War operations in South Africa between 1899 and 1901.
1 in stock
Boer War Operations in South Africa 1899–1901 is a highly regarded military history that reproduces the contemporary reports of Captain S. L’H. Slocum and Captain Carl Reichmann, two foreign military observers who closely studied the campaigns of the Anglo-Boer War. Their firsthand assessments provide a fascinating analysis of Boer military tactics, British operational methods, logistics, mobility and battlefield strategy during one of South Africa’s defining conflicts.
Published by Scripta Africana, this De Luxe limited edition was produced in an edition of only 1,000 copies, making it significantly scarcer than the standard issue. Bound in attractive red leatherette with gilt lettering and produced to a high standard, Boer War Operations in South Africa is sought after by collectors of Anglo-Boer War literature, South African military history, Africana and limited edition publications.
Boer War Operations in South Africa examines many of the major engagements fought between 1899 and 1901 while providing valuable insight into command structures, reconnaissance, artillery deployment, mounted warfare and the evolving nature of modern military operations at the turn of the twentieth century. Because the reports were written by professional military officers rather than later historians, they remain important primary source material and are frequently cited by researchers interested in the operational aspects of the war.
This edition appeals equally to historians, military enthusiasts, collectors of Boer War books and libraries specialising in South African history. Its combination of limited availability, quality production and historically significant content ensures that Boer War Operations in South Africa remains one of the more desirable modern Boer War reference works.
