Butterflies of Malawi by David Gifford (1965 Hardcover)

A scarce and beautifully preserved first edition of Butterflies of Malawi by David Gifford, published in 1965 by the Society of Malawi. This authoritative natural history reference documents the butterflies of Malawi and remains an important work for collectors of African entomology, natural history, and Malawiana.

Bound in the original blue cloth boards with gilt lettering, this copy is in immaculate condition and retains its original dust jacket, which is itself exceptionally well preserved and protected in a removable Brodart cover. The volume comprises 151 pages of text followed by a series of full-colour glossy plates illustrating numerous butterfly species in remarkable detail.

An especially attractive and increasingly hard-to-find title, ideal for collectors of African wildlife books, entomological references, butterfly studies, and Society of Malawi publications.
