1 in stock
Published in Paris in 1978, this scientific monograph forms Volume 47 of the renowned “Faune de Madagascar” series, a major zoological reference work documenting the unique biodiversity of Madagascar.
Authored by E.-R. Brygoo, a herpetologist associated with the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris, the work focuses on Malagasy reptiles of the family Chamaeleonidae, including the genus Brookesia, one of the most distinctive groups of dwarf chameleons endemic to Madagascar.
Madagascar is globally recognised as one of the world’s most important biodiversity hotspots, and its chameleon fauna is among the most diverse anywhere on Earth. This monograph contributes to the scientific documentation of that diversity through detailed taxonomic descriptions, species accounts, and distribution information.
The publication forms part of the long-running Faune de Madagascar series issued under the auspices of the Malagasy government and major French scientific institutions including ORSTOM and CNRS.
This example comprises 174 pages with numerous black and white illustrations within the text. No map was issued with this publication.
An important reference work for collectors of African natural history, herpetology, zoological monographs, and Madagascar biodiversity research.
