Raise the Titanic! follows ace maritime troubleshooter Dirk Pitt of the National Underwater and Marine Agency. Deep in the North Atlantic lies the wreck of the Titanic, and in her hold may be the only known supply of a rare mineral that could make the free world safe from attack. The Americans want it, and so do the Russians, which sets off a bold attempt to bring the great liner back to the surface.
Published years before Robert Ballard located the real wreck in 1985, Raise the Titanic! became Cussler’s breakthrough bestseller and is widely regarded as one of the defining sea-adventure thrillers of the 1970s. The rear cover carries the full film credits, with Jason Robards, Richard Jordan, David Selby, Anne Archer and Alec Guinness, music by John Barry.
