Published by Howard Timmins in Cape Town in 1971, this early third impression captures the investigative style and journalistic depth for which Bennett became well known. The Cohen Case offers readers valuable insight into South Africa’s political climate, legal system, media environment, and public discourse during the apartheid era, making it an appealing title for collectors of Africana, South African political history, legal history, and investigative journalism.
Benjamin Bennett established a reputation as one of South Africa’s respected journalists and commentators, and The Cohen Case reflects his ability to present complex events in a readable and compelling narrative style. Works such as The Cohen Case remain sought after by collectors interested in South African court cases, controversial historical events, and politically significant publications from the 1960s and 1970s.
This 1971 third impression hardcover copy of The Cohen Case retains its original dust jacket featuring bold graphic artwork typical of the period. While the jacket shows heavy wear and tearing, the book itself remains structurally intact and presents well on the shelf.
