The Poetical Works of Keats by John Keats is an attractive vintage Oxford edition bringing together the poetry of one of the greatest figures of the English Romantic movement. John Keats remains celebrated for the remarkable richness and beauty of his verse, and his poetry has become an enduring cornerstone of nineteenth-century English literature.
This substantial collection presents Keats’s poetical works in a traditional Oxford format and is particularly appealing as an older literary edition rather than a modern paperback reprint. The Poetical Works of Keats is bound in dark blue cloth with gilt spine lettering, an Oxford gilt device to the front board and the Oxford name in gilt at the foot of the spine. The restrained university binding gives the book the handsome appearance associated with Oxford literary editions of the period.
Keats’s celebrated writings include such classics as Ode to a Nightingale, Ode on a Grecian Urn, To Autumn, La Belle Dame sans Merci, Endymion and numerous sonnets and shorter poems. His extraordinary literary reputation is particularly striking considering his short life, and his work remains central to the study of Romantic poetry.
The Poetical Works of Keats is an appealing vintage volume for collectors of John Keats, English poetry, Romantic literature, Oxford editions and classic English literature. It would also make an attractive addition to a traditional poetry or literature collection.
