A fascinating mid-century illustrated guide to one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders, The Victoria Falls Illustrated provides a detailed handbook to the Victoria Falls, the Batoka Gorge and part of the Upper Zambesi River. Edited by noted archaeologist and historian J. Desmond Clark, the work combines geography, history, wildlife, exploration and practical travel information relating to the Victoria Falls region in what was then Northern Rhodesia.
Illustrated with colour and black-and-white plates, maps and line drawings, this 1952 edition captures both the scenery and colonial-era understanding of the region. It is an appealing item for collectors of Rhodesiana, Africana, Zambia and Zimbabwe travel books, as well as those interested in the history of Victoria Falls tourism and exploration.
Condition – Fair
