Trees & Shrubs Mozambique by John Burrows, Sandra Burrows, Mervyn Lötter & Ernst Schmidt (Subscriber’s Edition)

Trees & Shrubs Mozambique is the first comprehensive reference dedicated to the woody flora of Mozambique and stands as one of the most significant botanical publications produced for south-eastern Africa. Written by renowned botanists John Burrows, Sandra Burrows, Mervyn Lötter and Ernst Schmidt, this monumental work represents more than a decade of field research and documentation, bringing together approximately 1,780 species of trees and shrubs found throughout Mozambique.

Lavishly illustrated with over 9,600 full-colour photographs, detailed botanical drawings, distribution maps and identification keys, Trees & Shrubs Mozambique is an indispensable reference for botanists, foresters, ecologists, conservationists, environmental consultants, students and serious natural history enthusiasts. The book also documents vegetation types, conservation status and endemic species, making it an invaluable resource for anyone interested in the biodiversity of tropical and southern Africa.

This is the desirable Subscribers’ Edition, personally signed by all four authors on the subscribers’ page dated March 2018, making it particularly attractive to collectors of botanical literature and signed natural history books. Signed copies of Trees & Shrubs Mozambique are encountered far less frequently than the standard edition and are highly sought after by collectors of African flora.

Beautifully produced by Print Matters Heritage on quality coated paper, the volume combines exceptional photography with authoritative scientific content in an elegant hardcover format. Whether used as a field reference, research resource or collector’s showpiece, Trees & Shrubs Mozambique is regarded as the definitive work on Mozambique’s woody plants and remains one of the most important modern botanical publications relating to the region.
