VISI 100 – Iconic 100th Edition with Limited-Edition Ardmore Design Fabric Cover is a highly collectable milestone issue of one of South Africa’s leading design, décor and architecture publications. Published for February/March 2019, this substantial special edition celebrated VISI reaching its landmark 100th issue and two decades of championing distinctive South African creativity.
This particular example is especially desirable because it is presented in the limited-edition Ardmore Design fabric covering commissioned for VISI 100, rather than one of the standard printed covers. The striking textile features one of Ardmore’s unmistakable African-inspired designs, dominated by a beautifully detailed green crocodile surrounded by botanical elements. Large black VISI lettering is applied across the front, producing an exceptionally bold decorative object in its own right.
The bumper anniversary edition was the largest VISI produced up to that point and brought together architecture, interiors, furniture, art, decorative design and influential South African creative voices. Among its anniversary features is a retrospective celebrating 100 memorable examples and moments from VISI’s history, making VISI 100 both a contemporary design magazine and a record of South African design culture at the beginning of the 21st century.
The collaboration with Ardmore and Mavromac makes this version particularly appealing to collectors of South African design, textiles, decorative arts and Ardmore-related material. The fabric covers were produced in different Ardmore patterns, so individual examples can have quite different appearances.

Condition – Very Good
The magazine itself presents very well overall. The Ardmore fabric covering shows fraying and loose threads along the exposed edges and around the spine/binding, particularly noticeable at the lower and fore-edges. There is also some minor handling and edge wear consistent with the textile construction.
