Big Game Hunting in Central Africa – William Buckley’s classic account of ivory hunting and life in the wild interior of Central Africa.
1 in stock
Big Game Hunting in Central Africa by William Buckley, published in New York by St. Martin’s Press in 1988 as part of the Peter Capstick Library of hunting and adventure classics, with Peter Hathaway Capstick as series editor. The book is a faithful reprint of the original edition published in London by C. Palmer in 1930. ISBN 0-312-02165-8.
Big Game Hunting in Central Africa opens with a photographic frontispiece of the author and an editor’s note to the reprint edition by Capstick, introducing Buckley as one of the lesser-known but highly experienced ivory hunters of his day. Buckley’s own text describes years of hunting elephant and other big game in a hot, remote wilderness that few Europeans of the time ever saw. A note from the publishers explains that the text has been reprinted unaltered, so that it gives an honest picture of its era.
