A 1991 St. Martin’s Press edition of Lion Hunting in Somaliland by Captain C.J. Melliss, issued as part of the sought-after Peter Capstick’s Library series. Originally published in 1895, this fascinating hunting memoir recounts Melliss’s experiences pursuing lion in Somaliland, together with an account of “pigsticking” the African wart-hog. Illustrated with period photographs and drawings, it remains an important and collectible title in African hunting, safari and colonial travel literature.
