More Cape Flowers By A Lady – The Paintings Of Arabella Roupell

This elegant volume is a tribute to the remarkable botanical art of Arabella Roupell, a 19th-century Englishwoman whose delicate and scientifically accurate illustrations of South African flora are treasured by collectors and botanists alike. More Cape Flowers by a Lady presents a further selection of her exquisite watercolours, carefully reproduced in full colour and accompanied by descriptive text by Allan Bird, offering insights into each species’ characteristics and natural habitat.

Originally published over a century after Roupell’s initial works, this 1964 edition brings to light previously unpublished plates and celebrates her contribution to botanical illustration. A beautiful collector’s item and a visual delight for lovers of wildflowers, botanical art, and South African heritage.
