1 in stock
The Day Jean-Pierre Was Pignapped by Paul Gallico is a charming and collectible 1964 first edition children’s hardcover published by William Heinemann Ltd and beautifully illustrated by Dulac.
This delightful sequel to “The Day the Guinea-Pig Talked” follows the adventures of Cécile and her beloved guinea pig Jean-Pierre in rural France. Bound in the original illustrated boards and retaining its scarce blue dust jacket, this copy presents very well on the shelf, with the striking jacket artwork and internal illustrations remaining bright and appealing.
The Day Jean-Pierre Was Pignapped is internally clean and tidy, with only light foxing present. The dust jacket has been price-clipped and shows prior insect damage along the rear fold edge, but remains complete and attractive overall. A very desirable vintage Paul Gallico children’s title, increasingly hard to find in jacket, particularly in South Africa. Published in London by Heinemann in 1964.
Condition – Very good
In a very good clipped dust jacket. Minor foxing internally. Dust jacket has prior insect damage to the rear fold edge and light wear to corners and edges. Illustrated boards beneath remain clean and attractive.
